A creative approval is a decision accepting specified material for a stated creative purpose. It should identify the reviewer, the material and version reviewed, the decision and any conditions.
What it means in production
An approval of a character design is not necessarily approval of every later performance. Approval of a shot is not necessarily acceptance of a final master. Distinguish creative decisions from rights sign-off and technical acceptance, even when one person holds more than one responsibility. When approved material changes, assess whether the earlier decision still applies and record the outcome.
A useful question
Ask which decision or deliverable the term describes in your project, who is responsible for it and what record you will receive.
