Multimodal IP is a creative property expressed across connected forms of media, such as scripts, characters, visual designs, environments, performances, voices, music and finished sequences.
What it means in production
The practical idea is to keep those contributions identifiable and useful beyond a single exported film. A character may appear in several works while retaining a recognisable design and history. That technical possibility does not automatically grant permission for every future use. Ownership, contributor agreements and reuse conditions still need to be established for the relevant material and production.
A useful question
Ask which decision or deliverable the term describes in your project, who is responsible for it and what record you will receive.
